Used for restoration of pine flatwoods, roadways, and other open sites. Commerical landscape value. Recognized by its green palm like leaves. Orange to black round fruit eaten by wildlife.

Silver Saw Palmetto is a coastal variety as compared to the inland, Green Saw Palmetto. Sun, salt, poor soil and drought tolerant found in Zones 8+. Shrub will reach 6+ ft. in back dune and shorter in frontal dunes due to wind pruning. Used for restoration of back beaches and dunes systems. Serves as a wind and light break. Commerical landscape value. Recognized by its silver palm like leaves. Orange to black round fruit eaten by wildlife.
