Medium to large evergreen tree that can reach 110+ ft. Grows in flatwoods with Saw Palmetto, Oaks and Cabbage Palms. Prefers moist sandy soils. Sun, drought, fire, and poor soil tolerant. Tree will often stress and/or die if roots are disturbed. Grows in Zones 8+. In South Florida, densa variety is most common.
