Ft. Lauderdale, FL – January 14, 2010 – Aquatic Plants of Florida, Inc. showcased southeastern native plants in Booth #1337 at the 2010 TPIE exhibition, January 14-16, 2010.

The company seeks to offer wholesalers, retailers, brokers, and developers, a cost competitive alternative to commonly used exotic species now dominate in US markets.

Native plants offer many advantages over introduced and exotic plant species. Indigenous plants are tolerant to local site conditions – including climate, soil, salinity and water. Additionally, these plants play a vital role in creating local habitat for supporting other flora and wildlife.

In recent years, state and local governments have led outreach initiatives to promote habitat restoration through native plantings. Additionally, water conservation districts have spear headed efforts to educate the public on reducing water usage and energy footprints through native plant demonstration gardens and “how to” planting guides.

Aquatic Plant is committed to conservation and habitat restoration initiatives to preserve threatened ecosystems. The company has grown plants for many large restoration projects and successfully restored plant communities over hundreds of miles of coastline.
