Pignut Hickory -Carya glabra

Large tree to 90+ ft. Grows in Zones 7+ and found down to central Florida. Produces a yellow flower and large edible nut (i.e. member of walnut family). Wildlife value. Found mainly in forested upland areas. Drought and sun tolerant. Utilized for restoration of disturbed sites such as mines.
