Large perennial grass up to 5+ feet. Found in Zones 7+. Grows in both wetland margins (i.e. fresh and brackish) and xeric uplands. Salt, brief flood, poor soil, and sun tolerance. Recruits quickly and helps stabilize soil. High landscape value. Commonly used on golf courses and road sides. Needs adequate spacing when planted.
