One of the most common aquatic plants. Cattails are long with dark green, blade like leaves up to 4+ ft. and reed like flower stalks with dark brown seed heads. Typha spp. is a very aggresive plant often crowding out other aquatic species. Found in moist areas and various fresh water bodies. Planting depth 0-18 inches. Range includes Zones 7+. Spreads quickly vegetatively and by seeds. Forms dense colonies. Helps clean waters of phosphates and nitrates. Sold outside of Florida.
